It had been some time since I last posted (almost 1 month!). Life at TP is certainly getting more and more busy. I'm supposed to draw around 30-50 pictures for my visual literacy class tomorrow. However, I only drew 11...

Maybe the cause of it was because of the fever that struck me recently. It began on Thursday and only today (Sunday) that I recovered from it.

I also finally got the email about the game review. Time to polish up my blog and use it as the English document!

However I screwed up while editing and ended up retyping the whole of the last two posts, only to find out that I could do a short cut after I finish. Well, it's done now; hopefully it's not too bad.

Muhahaha, it seems like school had started!

Well, polytechnic life seems to be much more interesting than I thought it would be. The lecturers were good and time seems to pass quickly during lessons. Maybe it's because that I'm interested in most of the subjects.

Okay, let me recall my polytechnic life, starting from the orientation.

Day 1 of the orientation: I travelled to TP by bus no.72 followed by bus no.23 together with CX.

When we reach there, there were not much people there (we reached slightly earlier). However, we were told to wait. By the time the registration started, the amount of people there had become almost uncountable. At the registration counter, they were using this "new" bar code system which required us to print something that look like an out if shape square. Thing didn't went so well for me. Something had gone wrong when I printed my bar code, as a result, my bar code was halved the original size. Due to that the scanner was unable to scan my bar code. Luckily, I remembered my admission number when I was asked for it. After the registration, we went to the Lecture Theatre (LT) according to which ever course we were in. We got to know our care group (class), care person (form teacher), classmate, etc...

I and CX landed up in the same class, this means that we will likely be classmate for another 3 years (that makes 7 years!), unless...

Something happens...

For the rest of the day; we played some ice-breaking games which had some terrible forfeits; listen to our course manager's speech, mass dance in sports complex, etc. After dinner, my course got to bath 1st (lucky!), there's also water heater which surprised me. After that we were supposed to have this "night-walk", however it got delayed by one hour. During the one hour, our OL shows us some rather interesting YouTube videos. The "night-walk" was about finding out who was the killer in a short video clip that was shown to us. During the process we went to places that had almost no light, and there were lots of probes and OLs acting as "ghost". Maybe the "ghost" were meant to scare people (didn't work on me or anyone else in my class as we were all guys) and to make sure nothing went wrong in the dark room. I could felt the efforts put into the "night-walk" and I appreciate it. After that we had to move our bags to the sports complex (which was pretty far). And I had to carry 3 bags (1 of them belongs to CX as he didn't sign his form and got kick home) which were damn heavy, however there's always a bright side to thing, I got to use CX's sleeping bags as my head pillow to sleep.

Day 2 of the orientation: I slept for 5 hours, which was quite a lot considering that I was sleeping outside. For the second day we played station games (there's 5 stations in total). The 1st station was something like... a person from his class had to go up to get a card, there's a word on the card and the person need do actions to let his class know what the word was. If he could not do so, he will get splash! The 2nd station was table soccer.., with the exception that the footballers were real people. I still remember how CX bullied the girls he was facing in the game. The 3rd station was... mines sweeper except that there's no hint on where the mines were. Basically, there were 4 columns and 15 rows, there were 3 mines in each row and 1 safe spot, we had to test and find out all the safe spots slowly and get our whole class across. People that step on the mines would get splash. The 4th station was the most terrible out of all station, I would said that it was not a game but a torturing session that got people totally wet (I didn't bother to take part in this station).

To be continued... (Going DotA now)

Okay since I already forgotten what had happened, I'm not going to continue this.

It seems that I had lost all interest for Devil May Cry 4. Therefore, I changed my blog skin to something which looked nice and peaceful =D.

Anyway, here are some updates regarding my life. Recently I visited the I.T. Show and bought a few gadgets.

One of them is a headset, it make life so much more enjoyable for me! Being able to talk with my friend over the internet was wonderful. I was also able to play DotA with it using Skype. It enhanced our teamwork, reaction and most importantly our game play.

I also bought my laptop (Hp pavilion dv4 1301TX) at the I.T Show. It didn't fully live up to my expectation though. It seems to run slower compared to my PC when I tried out Devil May Cry 4 on it (even though its spec. was much higher). Luckily it did not seem to lag at all when I spam lots of units in my WarCraft 3. Also I brought the laptop for study purpose, so it shouldn't affect me so much.

I had tried out Bowling and Pool during the last few months. I prefer Pool over bowling as my hands and pocket hurts each time I played bowling (The ball kept going into the drain). My Pool's skill wasn't too bad but there's still a lot of room for improvement.

Yawn...
I need new things to entertain me! I'm running out of games to play soon and animes to watch. I feel lazy to find a part-time job, and done with my Polytechnic enrolment. No mood for my WC3 map.Games that I'm looking forward to are taking forever to release.

Currently: Trying to bypass Mega Upload to download something (its killing me).

This Polytechnic enrolment thingy is driving me nuts. I received it on the night when Dragonica's closed-beta preview was about to end. Since then, I had

-Read the thing more than 4 times without fully understanding it.

-Paid a visit to my aunt's house to help me fully understand it and did my online enrolment there.

-Something went wrong with the printer making it not able to print the medical forms. (Found out that the problem was because I was using Mozilla Firefox instead for IE7 after I reached home.)

-Put the medical forms in Microsoft Word in order to print it. (The format was a bit haywire but still usable)

-Went to Hougang Mall intending to take my photo only to find the shop gone.

-Exchanged my DAMN mouse (refer to my previous post) for a new one.

-Slept

-Woke up at 8.30 a.m.(I normally wake up at 12 p.m.) to go for a medical check up (required for the enrolment).

-Found out that the doctor had gone out for an appointment during the last step of my medical check up.

-Waited almost 1 hour for the doctor to come back (I almost LOLed at the queue, it's extended to the end of the clinic and there was another line of people waiting outside. Luckily I was third from front and got to sit for the queue (there were only four chairs, so rest of the people had to stand). I heard the clinic manager say, "Dr. Lim, you are my savoir," when the doctor arrived.)

-Was told that only Temasek Polytechnic's students had to go back on Wednesday 25/2/2009 to collect the medical reports.

-Took my photo at a random shop.

-Reached home feeling lazy to fill in the enrolment forms.

That's roughly all...

A tip for people going to polytechnic from me: remember to go early for the medical check up.

Today wasn't good for me. While I was in my bed trying to sleep, it became very itchy after a while, and it took me some time to realise that I was actually getting bitten by mosquitoes (I wished I could smack them at that moment).

In the afternoon, I went out to Hougang Mall to get my new mouse; also I brought the X-Box 360 controller for PC which I wanted a long time ago (Yes! I can finally play Devil May Cry 4 with a controller). However, DAMN THE MOUSE, the wheel is spoilt which result in me using back my old mouse (I'm planning to get it replaced). Also, Dragonica 2nd CBT-preview is tomorrow, its a fun and enjoyable MMORPG ^^, I recommend you to play it (no more keys, has to wait till OBT for people who don’t have them). I used X-padder to set the keys with the controller so that I can play Dragonica with it (took me more than a hour). Ah, tomorrow better come fast...

I added the 3 pictures below today... somehow it feels weird to me.
